I read this whole thread:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/60246/order-of-galleries-on-gallery-list/search_string=rearranging+gallery+images
and it just left me confused.
I have 'allow image reordering' set ON in my galleries module for all quotas. Have had it set that way for a long time.
I have some old galleries and also just now made some new galleries with new uploaded images.
I get to an 'edit gallery' page as shown in my screenshot below, and when i click/hold my mouse on an image I can actually move it around, but when i let go of the mouse, it just jumps back to where it was and won't be moved to where I wanted to change its gallery sequence position.
I'm not understanding. Can I re-order the images in a gallery or not?
Here's the sample location in a gallery, the page where I'm trying to do so from:

If you go to the gallery view at /profile_url/gallery/gallery_name/all (changing 'profile_url' and 'gallery_name' to suit, of course), you can drag and drop the images there.

I know what happened- I DID try dragging from that page when i was poking around... but apparently it does not work if I use my desktop's tablet pen. I just went back now and it works if I use my old fashioned mouse, but does not work if I switch to my 'drawing pen', which I use a lot as a 'mouse' when working on my computer.
Not to worry... most people don't use pens on their desktops anyway. Thanks!

There are javascript 'things' we can use to trigger 'stuff' ;) eg, one of them is:
onClick
so the issue probably is the javascript that is sending a different code that we'd need to setup the system to listen for. Not impossible, but not high priority and I dont have a drawing pen, so hard for me to build.

Thanks Michael- it's totally nothing important to try and work on. Sometimes I just forget that my pen doesn't work everywhere my mouse does. Plus, afterwards I was trying to drag images in the wrong window.
Marking Solved! :)

Its really interesting that the pen works to drag-n-drop, but it doesnt fire the save function for whatever reason.

It could be an issue with the under-lying javascript system we use (called jQuery) that a future update to that system will fix. So there is a possibility it could come right on its own.

The pen did that dragging (but not dropping) only on the 'wrong' page- the page i showed in my screenshot in the previous post. On the CORRECT page (that Paul pointed me to), the pen doesn't drag or drop at all, but the mouse works fine.
Micheal I do want to be clear that I'm not referring to a modern mobile device pen. I'm using an old fashioned Wacom tablet/pen combo attached to my PC desktop on my left side, and a standard mouse on my right side. (I'm ambidextrose)
I'm not worried about it especially since my tablet/pen is about 7 yrs old anyway, kind of dated. In any case I now know where to go to re-arrange my photo gallery images. :)
