Can someone please give me an understanding of how much it would cost to host such a script per month and how many members can be on our site? Also, are their samples that we could see of an admin section and members section? I am a non techy and looking for the best route to having a paid membership platform.

You can have a paid subscription system.

Jamroom Hosting is all-inclusive, so you get the hosting and all the modules/skins made by the-jamroom-network including premium ones on as many domains as you care to create.

"Jamroom Hosting"
https://www.jamroom.net/hosting

You set it up from your profile, so for you thats here:
https://www.jamroom.net/scottbland/hosting/overview

Prices start from $39 / Month.

How many members isn't so easy to guess at, it depends on what your members are doing. If they are uploading a lot of video files, then your server will need to convert those video files so there is a format available for all devices as well as serving the website when users come to look at it.

If you're just a forum site all the server needs to do is deliver the site, so many more. When you start to notice that your server is slowing down, upgrade.

Jamroom is designed to be useful to developers, so sometimes it can feel daunting to users who've never built a website before. Its very customizable and expects that you will want to customize it for your needs.

If you click the free trial and create your server you can have a play around with it, or you can download the free version and install that on a server you already own to check out the admin and members sections. We dont have a demo of those up.

There is no 'hard' limit on the number of members a Jamroom site can have, but as Michael says above, the limit will be your server size and performance. If you have a few dozen members all online at the same time, all viewing videos (say) a small server will struggle to 'serve' them all. This isn't a Jamroom limitation, but a general statement for all servers and all CMS software packages.
Hosted Jamroom servers will perform better than third party shared servers as they are 'dedicated', i.e.. one server just for your site(s), and configured specifically for Jamroom.
Hope that makes sense.

Hi Scott, I'm just a satisfied Jamroom customer for the past two years.
My music site for musicians has 3,500 members, only a certain portion of whom are active at any particular time. They do post some videos and audio clips, photos, and I have 62 Groups and a large Forum. Your JR site can have as many members as you want- as long as all your site(s) content fits on the server size you chose.
My site uses about 22 GB of server space. It could possibly fit on JR's 24 GB server plan, https://www.jamroom.net/hosting
-but I chose a Jamroom-hosted server of 48 GB, because I have a 2nd Jamroom site on my SAME server and hope to add more sites eventually... each with their own domain and each functions separately... but they will all be on one Jamroom server, at only the one monthly cost to me...so I have the slightly larger server so I have room when I need it. You can put as many Jamroom sites on your server as will fit (with member content). If you get too full you can either remove some content or simply click a button to go to the next larger JR server size and plan. It's really easy- I did it once myself when i needed a larger sized Jamroom server only for a day while I was duplicating sites... then I clicked a button and went back to my smaller server when I was done.

I highly recommend the Jamroom hosted plans... very smooth fast function for two years now and any time any server issue comes up the JR Team fixes it immediately. I mean immediately.
Here is my social site in case you want to take a look: https://fotmd.com/ Sorry, i can't show you the Admin areas but you can get an idea of what I offer my members on my (very plain) site. Please keep in mind that my members like things to be old fashioned and simple, so my site is designed that way.

If you get the JR hosting plan, you have unlimited access to all the modules available- there are over 200, plus many different skins to accommodate different site styles and needs. All skins are mobile-compatible. You can make your site into anything YOU like- you can make it completely different from mine and have completely different functions. Jamroom modules and skins offer virtually anything you need or want to create... and it's all included in your ONE monthly server payment if you choose one of their hosted plans.
I should mention that when I came to Jamroom two years ago I knew NOTHING about how to build or run my own site. It was a bit scary. But this excellent help forum, combined with the Site Builder tool and skins, and the JR Team's unfailing support, makes it do-able for someone like me who knew absolutely nothing about coding... all I knew was a bit of basic html at the time. Though I'm still no coder, over time I have learned how to keep my site well maintained and how to make most changes to it as I need. When I come up against a problem I can't figure out, the Team is always very helpful and responsive.
I hope you'll give JR a try. I'm really glad I did. :)
