This is directed to Brian,
I had to move hosting services and my lic isn't working and v4.x isn't supported any longer would you allow me to remove the code that searches for lic? Sure would help me out as I'm hoping to have web site and all radio stations in-house before the end of the year.

There is no reason to disable anything - you just need to copy over the ".htpasswd" from the Jamroom 4 /config directory to your new server, then run the settings.php file on your new server to update the database connection info (it's found in the "settings.zip" file in your JR4 directory - unzip it).

Let me know if that helps.

Hi Tommy
Jamroom is open source so yes, you can remove/edit code in the source file(s). Jamroom4 is no longer supported so any changes you make are not going to be overwritten by an upgrade.
If/when you do want to move to Jamroom6 let us know - I'm sure we can help with that.
Hope that helps
Paul

B the .htaccess file was lost in the transfer and the last email I can't find which has the lic # the Western Digital hard drive failed on a reboot. I think the heads burnt on the the disc.

P, good to see you're still involved, when can I steel you away from Brian? LOL if I tried to steel you I'd have to ask Brian to join and god forbid I get him to accept. I've installed 6 on my local server and I'll play with it, the reason I didn't change to v5 was the directory structure, I had to learn JR all over again and I'm just a hack I'm not a coder. I'll get back with you on 6.x I need to be able to redesign the layout to be totally custom. I like the database that runs JR4
