I know my Soundcloud, Vimeo, and YouTube items get periodically validated through either the module settings or via Integrity check, to check if the item is still there and still working. But do videos and audios uploaded by members ever get automatically checked in some way to see if they're still functional? (assuming the member is still on the site) ?
If their 5 year old uploaded video stopped working at some point, would i know about it aside from some member perhaps alerting me? Just wondering....thanks

The short answer is 'no, they do not get checked', but I'm wondering why they would ever stop working, unless the user uploaded a faulty file.
Soundcloud, Vimeo and YouTube items get checked because they are off-site and not in your control, yet you and your users are in charge of uploaded media.

Paul thanks. I'm only thinking that one day internet standards may change to the point where such 'old technology' files might no longer be supported to play. At that point I'd have to hand check a couple thousand uploaded video and audio files on my site myself, one at a time, to see if they're still working. Guess maybe I;'m worrying too far ahead. ;) But I just had the thought and wondered if it was something that the platform already takes care of. Thanks for the info, good to know!
