hey there,

How can I show a "Download" button next to the song player/name?

I've already uncheck the "Block MP3 Downloads" option to allow download of MP3 files, but I don't see any button..

thanks

If you have a price set on the audio item, the download button will not show.

If you don't have a price set, try clearing the cache via the Core modules tools tab.

Hope this helps,
Douglas

Hi Douglas,

I finally found a good solution following this thread:

https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/2658/mod-audio-support-song-download-checkbox

I created a new checkbox using the Form Designer tool just as seen here:
Using the Form Designer tool

Anyway, when trying the download button from my Android device the proccess stops and the "error" message appears in notifications area.

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 / Android 2.3.6

Do you know why is that?

Thanks!

As far as I know you cannot download from a browser on a mobile device - you may be able to with a downloader, but not directly from within the browser.

You mean nobody can't dowload a file while surfing the net?

I frequently use a website to download ringtones and it works just fine. I select the ringtone I want and hit "Download" and it works.

This is the website: http://argim.net (spanish site)

I've tried it on Android and no-Android phones.

Also, if the good news about Jammroom5 is responsive design, how is it possible that download function doesn't work?

Its not a problem with Jamroom but your device. Please refrence my post on your Mobile Audio Problem that I have responded to. You will have to upgrade to a current device. The websites that are allowing you to download to your device are engineered to work on the old devices which was a pain to develop for due to multiple formats and multiple device requirements and this has been a huge problem for developers. Now that the world has updated to HTML5 which uses the MP3 format you will have a more universal experience across devices.

These are not even related. "Responsive design" means the page adjusts itself to accommodate the size of the screen being viewed on.

Downloads are something totally different. Downloads require a user accessible file system to "save" the file too - something most mobile devices do not have. For sure it is not going to work on any iOS device, and downloads are probably only supported on a subset of android devices, using 3rd party "download apps" or browsers specifically designed to download files.

With that said, there is nothing in Jamroom to prevent a mobile device from downloading - Jamroom does not even check or care what the downloading device is (PC, mobile, tablet, whatever) - so if it is not working for you then it means your browser or device does not support it, which would be typical.

So Jamroom 5 already supports downloading on mobile devices.

Thanks!
