New forum has no button for posting topic

I created a new forum in a new profile, as a new forum 'category'.
Because there are no topics in the new forum, I cannot click on a topic and get the + option to post a new topic.
Because there is no + option in the empty new forum, I cannot create the first topic.
How to start the ball rolling, so to speak, in a new forum with no topics?

What skin are you using? I'm seeing a '+' button in forum categories with no topics. Its on the right of the top breadcrumbs bar alongside the notification, mark as read and search buttons.

This is with the Ningja skin. I attach a screenshot.

Thanks, Peter

In your "Settings" tab, if you have the enable categories checkbox checked, you'll then need to create the categories you want topics for in the "Categories" tab.

If you don't want categories, then uncheck the enable categories checkbox.

Hope this helps!

I initially created two categories in the forum on this profile. After enabling them in the checkbox, I still cannot see any "add topic" + sign.

See attached image.

I am puzzled by this because I had it figured out previously, and set up forums with categories and topic posts in previous testing with the same site. There is still some hidden trick that I have forgotten.

We'll most likely need the URL to the forum and admin login to check it out.

Send that info to support[at]jamroom[dot]net and we can check it out.

Thanks!
