I'm getting another of the 'Data too long' errors, the same as at the end of last year: https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/my_posts/36860/cri-query-error-since-updating-to-530b9

I was trying to post as Admin in the Admin forum. I don't think this is related to the SMTP issue, so I've started a new thread.

Debug entry looks like this (and again continues for pages) attachment...

How big is your profile???? For me that cat_update_user field is a TEXT field which should be plenty big enough.

Could you take a look at:
ACP -> DEVELOPER -> DEVELOPER TOOLS -> TOOLS -> DATABASE ADMIN

In the left hand column at the top you will see a search box, in that type "cate" that should be enough to limit all the tables to where you only see:
jr_jrforum_category

click on the text 'jr_jrforum_category' (not the icon, thats different.) and take a screenshot of that for me please. the cat_update_user table should read TEXT i'm wondering if your's says something else.

I can see the issue, its that you have a TON of linked profiles, much more than think was ever expected. We'll get a fix in for this issue.

Thanks.

I've seen the query that produced this error, and the reason is that your user account is linked to thousands and thousands of profiles, which is NOT normal. normally your user account will be linked to 1 or a few profiles. If you need to be linked to every profile in your system, it's better to just set your account up as an admin or master admin account.

Do you have a custom setup that is assigning every new profile on your system to your user id?

Thanks!

Hi, @brian - you looked at the issue for me before as in the link above.

I needed a profile for every town village and city in the UK, and @paul created an import module for me which made a linked profile for each one.

Think we have this sorted for the next release of the forum module.
