I cannot delete this topic.
https://www.jamroom.net/ultrajam/forum/announcements/1289/cannot-delete

redirects to https://www.jamroom.net/forum/delete/id=1289 which gives a Not Found, but the topic remains.

I tried unlocking the topic and then deleting but the topic is still there.

I was able to delete it for you - didn't have any issues, but I'll check out the delete code and see if there's something being overlooked.

Thanks!

Thanks Brian, but there is soemthing wrong with that forum category.

I can't create a new thread, there is no + button showing. I've tried changing the Read Only setting for that cat, but no change. The other cats look ok, they have the + button.

It looks like the problems might be caused by the category being called Announcements.

If I change the category name to Announcements2 the + button appears.

You posted 2 seconds too late to have seen my last post above - its because the thread is called "announcements"

It was actually a small bug in the template, which I fixed at probably the same time you renamed it :)

Should be good now though - the name of the category should not matter.

let me know if you see any issues.

Thanks!

Nice and festive!

I'm still unable to delete a topic there by using the delete button in the header.

Clicking the topic header delete button takes me to a Not Found:
https://www.jamroom.net/forum/delete/id=3888

I can delete it by clicking the delete button on the first (and only) post in the thread though.

The two delete buttons use different urls:

The header:
href="https://www.jamroom.net/forum/post_delete_save/id=3974"

On the post item:
href="https://www.jamroom.net/forum/delete/id=3974"

"post_delete_save" is for deleting a post on a topic, the "delete" is for deleting the topic "leader" (i.e. the post that starts the topic).

I've never had issues with this, but I will try to see if I can see what's up.

Thanks!

You know I bet this is related to the recent item action button update - I'll double check that the delete action works properly.

Turns out "delete" is wrong, so I've just removed the modify/delete options from the detail header - they were redundant and not needed.

Thanks!

Just hold your mouse over the post, and the quota/edit/delete buttons will appear.

Yep, that's what would expect to happen, but it doesn't. There are no buttons on the post on mouseover any more. And no buttons in the header now, so no options to do anything at all apart from the topic notifications button in the header.

Weird - I'm not seeing that issue here - is it for all posts, your posts or just other posts in your forum?

Thanks!

It looks like it is only that thread. I see the buttons on other posts.

Hmm.. there is nothing in the template that shows buttons based on post id or anything, so that really does not make any sense. I could reset cache on the system here and see if it's just something that was cached incorreclty for you - let me know if that fixes it.

Okay the post is locked, which I see a special check for in the template which could be messing this up - let me see if I can fix this.

Okay try that now - I think that should be fixed, as there was an check to not show the modify/delete icons if the topic was locked in the wrong place.

Thanks!

Yep - it's for Christmas :)

Although it’s early in the year I’ve already wasted too much time thinking about it. Glancing at them each time a forum page loads, looking up significant dates on wikipedia? So I guess I’ll just ask.

When will the baubles turn into Easter eggs?

The suspense is killing me.
