I have installed the ShareThis module, entered a key, enabled it for my quotas, but when I go to the song/video etc details page of a user, at the button it just says "Share This", but it isn't clickable and there are no other options.

I've not seen this before - make sure you are not using any type of "ad blocking" - that will block Share This (i.e. I can't see it in Firefox since I have an ad blocker there).

I shared a song on Facebook, went to Facebook to see what it looks like, but don't see a player there, just the band profile image, am I missing something?

In your ShareThis module quota config section, do you have the allow facebook player box checked?

I'm suspecting Facebook has reverted to the bug they were having a couple weeks ago that was doing this exact same thing.

It's not a Facebook update - it's a Facebook bug that we saw a month or so ago when developing the module - a few weeks later they fixed it. I'm guessing it is still hitting some of their profiles.

The ShareThis module still doesn't show the Facebook Player, but now it doesn't show the artist Thumbnail either, is this still a Facebook problem?

It shows like this when I share any song Brian, here is an example,

Something is wrong with your SSL:

https://www.soabem.com/joao-pimentel/audio/269/ai-ai-ai-quero-te-dar-um-beijo

You'll want to contact your hosting provider. Remember that all sharing on FB has to be over SSL.

Hope this helps!

I host with JBservers, and this is what they told me.

"You don't seem to have a static ip so that would also mean you don't have ssl set up.

You will need a static ip address and a third party signed ssl cert to add ssl to your site.

A static ip can be ordered from the addons area in the hosting management area. An ssl cert can be purchased from the ssl provider of your choice."

It sucks, but what can I do? I can't afford extra addons.

JBServers is correct - you will need to have a static IP for SSL hosting - some hosting providers might offer name-based SSL, but that fails on older browsers.

SSL certs can be had for under $10 - i.e.:

https://www.namecheap.com/ssl-certificates.aspx

unfortunately it is a Facebook requirement, so there's nothing we can do about it on this end.

Brian will have to check it out, but my guess is that Facebook has changed something yet again... I really can't stand FB.

Are you trying to share the same URL you were earlier?

Thanks!

Just tried some different ones and it's working now, still no player (crappy Facebook) but can see the artist thumbnail now, how can I clear the ones that don't show anything? These are probably some I had tried before.

I'm not sure about that - I know FB caches it for a bit. You might try going here:

https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

and put in the URL and see if that "resets" it on FB's end.

Hope this helps!

Give it some time and they will start working - during testing I saw FB cache pages as well, so for testing I would always create a brand new song, since if a previous one did not work for some reason FB's cache of it would be broken.

One additional followup too - make sure you have added "fbsbx.com" to your allowed domains.

Hope this helps!

Allowed domains where?

Core => Global Config. Make sure you have "facebook.com" and "fbsbx.com" in there. You can also just put in "ALLOW_ALL_DOMAINS" if you want your audio to be able to be streamed from anywhere.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

Hey just a suggestion here... I wanted to quickly share that this actually sounds like it might be a problem with his APP setup on his FB end.

Make sure your APP has been changed to public permissions and also add to your fb APP a "website" and register your domain url to your app.
This allows your APP to pass any requests to facebook from your domain.

You may have already done all this but it sounds like your not getting past their APP requiremens to allow a post so your members or yourself cant pass through to post to facebook using your APP.

Just getting an APP ID code isnt enough to allow your website to post. You have to do a little more set up to your APP in order to be able to post to Facebook using your APP.

* Also my audio player on myRadio - Blue is posting to Facebook with no SSL

Its not placing a playable audio button (which i believe this would require a SSL) but it is passing a full share link to wall feed with out SSL.

Hope this helps.

Thanks b360, mine does work now and since I installed SSL, the player is showing as well and that to me is a great tool since I have a few groups on Facebook :).

What I would like though, is to show the artist name on the player, that would top it off :), right now it only shows the song title.

Heres what my player looks like.
