My last several email notifications from these forums for threads I am following are now missing the links to the new item.
See this example I just received-

A forum topic you are following has been updated:
user: gary.moncrieff
post: My Posts
view:
->(HERE is where the link is missing)
---------------------------------------
If you would prefer to no longer receive event notifications, you can adjust
your notification preferences in your User Account:...
(the rest of the email includes the correct links)

Probably the same problem, but the link to the post is missing in New Reply emails from our jrForum 1.6.0

Just to help compare notes-
I am still on jrForum 1.6.0 (have not updated to 1.6.1 yet) and it seems to be working fine for me- just got this email notif yesterday:
--------------------

A forum topic you are following has been updated:

user: Mr. Phil Mcdaniel
post: Image attachments now available in forum and comment posting.
view: http:...//email.fotmd.com/c/eJw9T0luwzAMfI19Y2A...etc etc URL, which does take me to the new post correctly.
------------------------------

So on 1.6.0 --as of July 31 until now-- I was getting the proper email links showing, and you were not, Ultrajam?

P.S. also- I'm getting the correct emailed links when being notified of new posts in GROUP Discussions as well...just got a couple now that work properly when I click them.

I'm not really sure what you are asking for strumelia. What are group discussions? Is that a ning thing?

Do you see the link in emails on a standard install of jrForum? Or not?

I added the "..." so that it wouldn't be a live link in my post here.

My main url to my site's forums is http://fotmd.com/forums/forum but you prob have to be a logged in member to see that page.

I didn't know I was asking for anything at this point, since the original thread issue was resolved for me early on. Yes, "groups" are a ning thing, and they have their own pseudo-discussions that members can 'follow' and therefore get notifications on.

Thanks strumelia, that's a little clearer.

When you install jamroom and then jrForum, do you receive email notifications where the link works?

I cant really remember whether it worked from the very beginning- it was ten months ago that I installed jamroom, and I don't think jrForum was even finished yet at that time? Ningja skin people needed to import their ning forums into the forum module. Wish I could tell you whether my jrForum is a 'standard install' or not...all I know is there's been a lot of tweaking of my site over the past 10 months, in a gazillion different locations.
But the links in email notifications had been there for a long time now- but they always took people to the first page of a forum discussion- even if the new post was on page 12. That has been corrected now.

Then the 'missing' links were only a one-day error for me, as described in the first post of this thread. Also corrected now (for me anyway).
Hope all that helps?

Its just the link which is missing, the rest is fine. The New Topic email is fine as well.

mmmmm, wonder how that's happening. I'll go look, see if I can recreate. any guesses? works for me but not for you.

--edit--
think I see why, brians already found and fixed it here. I've uploaded jrForum 1.6.2 to the marketplace. Could you see if that sorts it out for you please.

I think it will.
