Use disqus on blog posts

I like the disqus module alot. I would like to use it mainly in the blog's as well it just shows the regular comment box. My reason is I feel people should not have to sign up just to leave a comment. How do I go about doing that ?

Make sure it is enabled for the quota.

It shows up here:
http://exposehits.com/exposehits/blog/1/jakepapa

If that page is not an item_details.tpl page, but rather is something you've created yourself, you will need to outline how you created it in order to get a satisfactory answer.

Does that page contain this code?

I didnt create that page. I think its from the template I have. If you go to http://exposehits.com and under "Latest News" on the homepage theres a picture, click on "Jake&Papa" words and itll take you to that link.

If you don't want to use the jrComments module, you could turn it off and just use the jrDisqus module.

That is odd, it works on my dev site, are you running the latest version of the jrDisqus module, jrProJamLight skin and Jamroom Core?

Have you configured the Disqus module properly with the right "Disqus Short Name" in the Disqus -> Global Config? Double check your Disqus settings.

I'm not talking about updates - I'm talking about the Disqus Global Config.

- go into the ACP
- under "users" click on "Disqus Comments".
- the Disqus Shortname MUST match the value on your Disqus account.

And I see it working:

note that disqus comments are an "Item detail feature" - in other words they show up in the Item Detail Pages for items in your Jamroom - these are item that have their own unique page for each item such as songs, etc.

The disqus comments do NOT show up on a page like this:

http://exposehits.com/news_story/jakepapa#comments

Since "news_story" is not a profile, but a special page made by the skin. You will find disqus comments though on any detail page in your JR.

Correct I understand that but if that
http://exposehits.com/news_story/jakepapa#comments doesnt show disqus why put it in the frontpage of the template ? shouldnt it show the regular page where the disqus can be seen for that ? Can you please guide me on how to fix that in the template?

Actually I was wrong on this - this appears to be working "out of the box" on our install here - have you modified your template in any way?

Well well well Michael looked at my website because it had a blank white page well whatever he did seemed to make the disqus work on

. Could it be that I do not have php 5.3 ? I had 5.2 but he worked around it.

nah, it was probably the stuff you did before that trying to get the white page fixed. At a guess I would say its something in the caching system.

Good to hear its working though.

yes it works !! im happy about it...the only problem now is showing share buttons on the comments page where disqus is...that the last piece i need but no one is guiding me i posted on that.
