I know the answers are here, but the biggest issue I am finding is that there is just so MUCH to digest here. Mostly because I am just learning Jamroom, and that I am a bit overwhelmed in how to approach. I had a HUGE Ning 3.0 site built. And how to move two years worth of work just has me like a deer in the headlights. Am I missing, but are there How To's on each module, etc and same for site builder?

This is is what your after Jeff:

"Start your own online community"
https://www.udemy.com/start-your-own-online-community

That will get you grounded in the basics of Jamroom.

The super short version:
Jamroom is a module system. You add modules to the system to increase what the site can do. Its also Profile centric, meaning that content is added to profiles. The content that is added to the profiles can be showcased on the top level. Site Builder operates on that level.

This site right here jamroom.net is powered by Jamroom CMS. You are on the profile 'the-jamroom-network' in the forum on that profile. There are other profiles on this site too, some of them have their own forums.

A forum on a profile is an example of an active module. When you add a module to your system, you're usually doing so to give the profiles more features.

What features a profile gets is determined by what QUOTA they are in. Each module will have a setting to turn it on and off for each group (quota.).

Its hard to go on without knowing where your stuck. Have you seen our youtube channel?

So even though this is in Beta, can we use it now? Is there a time frame you think it will be out of Beta? :)

Lora, I can't answer for the JR Team, but I was recently told it was ready (or 'ready enough') to start using with the Ningja skin now. Personally, I suggest it'd be easier for you to start off using Site Builder from the beginning, with your Ningja bundle and skin, of course.

Thanks Strumelia... :) My content from 2.0 got so messed up when I moved to 3.0 that I ended up getting rid of over 40 groups cause no one could figure out how to use the groups.

And when we moved, our images moved with us, BUT the links became broken and search engines kept giving us warning messages. So starting from scratch is probably for the best anyway.

In that case, that's what I'd do as well. And it'll surely be easier anyway!
Be sure to make a list/spreadsheet of all your members' info as much as you can- emails, user names, whatever data you can- this will be valuable when you have a new site ready and you want to invite everyone.
