On my Profile index page, the profile search field is set up with a reset button. This is very useful.
When I search other areas of my site, no such reset button appears above the displayed search results.
As a user, I have to experiment to see whether or not trying a new keyword results in an entirely new search, or acts as refinement within the displayed search results.
After discovering by trial and error that it acts as refinement, I then have to navigate awkwardly back to the starting page where I began the search to make a completely new search with the same search field.
If the Profile page search field can have a reset button, can the same function be added to all search fields as a default, or to selected search fields as an Admin settings option
I imagine an obvious, search-reset button would be useful in all situations! How could it not be useful?
