Any plans for browser notifications module?

I was wondering if there are any plans for browser notifications module for Jamroom?

What I have Googled I don't think they will work with all browsers, but would give a new way for some users to find their way back to sites :).

outline what it is you're thinking so we can consider it. How you think it should work etc.

The chat module already has notifications and alerts for when you are off the page and a message comes in.

I was thinking the browser notifications could be one option among the email and private note notifications.

Its always an option, but the design of how it works would be important. Too many notifications could get annoying.

Yeah, in browser it would be a problem if there was a lot of notifications waiting when you open it up in the morning. Some notifications would probably end up missed, much more likely then in email.

I don't know the technical side, might it be possible to delay browser notifications so that only one is shown per each 5 minutes or some other set time?

maybe im mis-understanding what you mean by 'browser notifications' are you meaning when you are on another page, not your site, that you get a popup saying "come back to my site"

or are you saying new item notifications like how facebook does with the small red circle icons. if its that, then those already exist in the Follow Me skin. They are called Pulse Notifications.

I meant a notification when in another page.

Pulses look interesting too :).
