It would be very helpful if it was possible to set a standard set of profile forum categories by quota. Might that be feasible?

This is not something that is supported in the module - and I am not sure it would be added since this is the first time anything like this has been requested. Usually the idea is to let the profile owners define how they want their forum.

I see that! I was hoping for each town (which is a profile owned by admin) to have the same categories - I don't want to set 43,115 manually!

That is A LOT - if you need this to be setup this way, we can likely setup a small custom one shot script that would preconfigure this for you - just let us know.
