I will start by saying Jr5 is great I enjoy all the new modules and features. However the Timeline (one of the main sections of my site) needs to be spiced up. I feel a lot of us feel the same way. It is essential for users to see the videos, images, soundcloud, etc.. right now it's just plain and boring. Can't wait for the update.

If you have the URLScan module installed, then all of these things are "clickable" right on your timeline.

What update are you waiting for?

Thanks!

"A picture is worth a thousand words." Clickable text/links are boring.
Paul had mentioned this could be implemented. There are several posts on this: http://www.jamroom.net/chorton581/job/11/jr-homepage-like-fb-wall

It only makes sense for the timeline to be more like Facebook or twitter.

Thanks!

We have a module for the wall that will come out after the site builder system is stable.

The Jamroom Timeline is Twitter like. if you don't want to click on a link (which is boring) then use the Embed module and embed the stuff straight away.

I'm not seeing any issues with it here:

https://www.jamroom.net/brian/action

note the module Michael is talking about is the Site Builder, and entire skin/system - not a single module.

Hope this helps!

Take a look at my site http://motagator.com
It has a 'dynamic' timeline that the new 'wall' module is based on.
Is that what you're looking for?

Yeah Paul, pretty cool but not what I mean. I want the shared soundcloud track on the timeline to be opened just like this:http://hiphopbillboard.com/line.png WITHOUT HAVING TO CLICK ON A LINK.Same goes for the youtube videos etc..

Mark, can you post a link to where this can be seen happening? Preferably one whoch doesn't require a login.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Education, learning resources, TEL, AR/VR/MR, CC licensed content, panoramas, interactive narrative, sectional modules (like jrDocs), lunch at Uni of Bristol. Get in touch if you share my current interests or can suggest better :)

My site is using the jrUrlScan module to show the players. That module would need to be modified with an option to show the players already open. Its not a simple mod!!

The support for doing this is already in Jamroom - the embed module (for doing "inline" items that are already open) and the URL Scan module (for doing 1 liners that you click to open).

What is needed on this is a Embed listener to put in the timeline - we can check that out.

No new module is needed.

Thanks!

The latest release of the SoundCloud support module (1.1.0) now will show an embedded SoundCloud player in the timeline when a track is created/updated.

Hope this helps!
