I'm using Firefox 40.0.3 on win7, and just recently now every time i click to play one of the Vimeo vids on my JR site, FF immediately crashes and closes. Not a problem til now.

I'm posting this in Off Topic because it's not a Jamroom issue, it's a FF issue. Just wondering if others are experiencing this? I googled a bunch today but not finding any solutions. Updated all my plugins and apps.
I do not have parental controls on, I have Flash set to kick in if it's needed, but up til last week I never needed to turn on flash anyway to watch vimeo vids on my site.
This is not happening in chrome, IE, or safari on my win7 system. And it's NOT happening on my MacBook on Firefox or Safari. Only on my win PC in Firefox browser.
Any ideas, or anyone else now experiencing this with Vimeo in windows Firefox on their JR sites? Thanks...

Important point-
When i go here: https://vimeo.com/channels/staffpicks I have no trouble at all playing the vimeo staff picked videos in my Firefox. But when in my Jamroom site, I immediately crash when i click to play my members' embedded Vimeos.

I just checked this one out, forgot I had your login... ;)

http://fotmd.com/helen-seiler/vimeo/44/banjo-bumble

I'm not seeing any issues in FF, but then I'm on a MAC.

I'm also not seeing any errors being reported so I'm going to guess it has to do with some plugin in your browser, which would be odd since it doesn't do it on the Vimeo site.

Still post a link to the video your seeing this on, it may be specific to one video.

Sending login info to support @ jamroom .net

Douglas, it happens when I click on ANY of the Vimeo vids on my site, all 37 of which can be seen here: http://fotmd.com/vimeo
All other non-vimeo videos play fine.

Remember, this is ONLY happening for me in windows 7 on PC, on latest Firefox version 40.0.3

EDIT: it does NOT crash when i view the vimeo vids on Firefox on my MacBook. Only on Windows FF.

That could possibly be an issue with the latest version for win7. You might try turning off plugins one at a time to see if one of them is causing the issue.

Thanks Douglas I will try that, though restarting FF and testing it over and over for each/all my plugins is something I may have to put off until Monday.

I'm interested in knowing if others on windows are having the same issue with the Firefox/Jamroom/Vimeo combination.

using FF 40.0.3 here on linux and your site is playing correctly for me.

First guess would be windows conflict of something, but also try turning off cometchat and see if that makes a difference.

I think FireFox knows about this and it is an actual FireFox bug. At least that is what it looks like to me.

Yes, I'm agreeing with that Douglas. Prime suspect is FF. That's sort of why i posted this in "off topic", too. Hopefully they will fix it soon, apparently it's getting some notice as a crash issue.

It seems like Firefox has now fixed this issue with Vimeo crashing it. I'm glad for everyone who was pulling their hair out on this, my members included!
For myself, I have now moved on to Chrome so I didn't even notice that it got fixed...lolol I went back into FF to check it today, and noticed they fixed the Vimeo issue...and also noticed yet again how sloooooow Firefox loads pages. Good riddance I say to FF after many years.

But just reporting back here to get closure on this thread. :)

To be honest, I can't stand using any other browser other than FF. Chrome is the new IE and just as bad a browser in my opinion.

Anyway, I'm glad things got sorted with the Vimeo issue. ;)

I would too if I didn't have to test on it. ;)

That's so funny...FF has been slow and crashing left and right on my for tears but I loyally stuck by it. Even recently, Vimeo would crash and close FF every time for weeks. FF finally fixed it, but meanwhile Chrome and Safari had no probs at all with vimeo...it was the last straw for me really...packed my backed and left FF for good...lolol.

Went to Chrome 2 weeks ago and was surprised to find it super fast and it's not crashing on me like friedfox used to several times a day sometimes. (!) Plus, I love how it's now synching between my PC, my macbook, my ipad, and my android phone...without my fussing at the synching all the time.
To each their own, I guess I'm now a Chromehead, for a while anyway! :D
