Does any one know where I can download "Site Builder", as it is not an option with the two free skins?
I cannot see it in the Marketplace/Skins.
The screenshot is from a demo I was watching and shows Site Builder. I cannot find where to add/download it.

Thanks Gary,
I don't see it in Market Place - yet it is featured on a Jamroom demo video.
How do I add the Beta Channel?

Go to admin - marketplace - tools - select the channel releases and add the beta one

Go into your Admin Control Panel -> Core -> Marketplace -> Tools -> Release Channels and click on the "Make Active" button next to the "beta" channel - this will make it so beta releases will show up in your Marketplace. Search for "Site Builder"

Then you can install the Site Builder modules right from within the Marketplace.

Hope this helps!

Can you let me know the error you see when you try to install it? That will tell us where the issue is.

Thanks!

ahh - sounds like the skin is trying to pull in features that are note active yet (probably from the site builder modules). Michael is the lead for the Site Builder project, and he's actually out of town, so I'm not 100% certain if that is the case, but here's how to get it back:

1) You'll need to go into your hosting control panel and fire up phpMyAdmin (or go into phpMyAdmin if you have a link to it, or other Database browser)

2) go into the jr_jrcore_settings table and find the "active_skin" row for the jrCore module, and set the "value" to "jrElastic". Save that

3) EMPTY the contents of the jr_jrcore_cache table (i.e. "TRUNCATE TABLE jr_jrcore_cache)

That should get you back to elastic.

I will open a ticket for Michael on this, as switch skins should never end up like this, so sorry for that.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

Yeah you can checkmark them all and delete them, or you can run this SQL command:

TRUNCATE TABLE jr_jrcore_cache;

and empty them all at once.

Hope this helps!

Right on - glad to hear that. If you want to re-enable the site builder, what you want to do is:

1) Make sure all site builder modules have been installed from the Marketplace

2) make sure all the site build modules are ACTIVE (go to their info tab and make sure they are all enabled)

3) finally go to the skins tab and enable the Slate Site Builder skin

Doing in that order should work - as the skin looks for specific functionality we can be sure all the modules are active so it should work. If however it ends up in a white screen again, something is wrong with a template in the skin.

You can see if there are any template errors by going into the Activity Logs -> PHP Error Log and see if there are any entries in there.

Hope this helps!

Brian,

I managed to install the modules and the Slate Site Builder skin, but the whole thing runs really slow, and it seemed to me that not everything worked as it should.

I'll no doubt try it again once it's out of beta.

Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for the feedback!

The Site Builder should definitely not be slow - double check that you:

- are not running with Developer Mode enabled (ACP -> Tools -> Developer Tools)

- are not running with your ACP -> Core -> Global Config - Cache Seconds set to 0

- are running on a decent hosting provider.

Jamroom is very, very fast when setup properly and running on good hosting.

Hope this helps!

Hey Brian

Slightly off topic, but will the provision be made, or is it available, to take the slate skin, clone it, redesign it, ship it and have quick built in support for site builder in premium themes?

Brian,

I set up another site and run the Site Builder on it and it runs faster, although I am unable to change the logo image (logo.png ) at present.

I have this system error:
FFMpeg binary executable fail modules/jrCore/tools/ffmpeg is not functioning properly

If you've uploaded a new logo.png to your skins/jrSlate/img directory, try clearing your cache as I suggested in your other post about profiles not showing up.

Hope this helps! :)

Isleander:I have this system error:

In the top menu, ACP > System Tools > System Check, - does it give you further info there?

You probably need to set different permissions on that file:
/modules/jrCore/tools/ffmpeg

If you are on a mac server replace that file with the relevant download from here: http://ffmpegmac.net/

SteveX,

"You probably need to set different permissions on that file:

What permissions do I need - any idea?

Not hosted on a Mac Server, but do use a Mac Desktop, but doubt there's any connection there?

Thanks

For the permissions try 777

If you want to run Jamroom locally on your mac desktop there is documentation on installing and configuring Ampps here:

Please do.
