Do you think we're still at a "building culture" stage on the road to ruin? lol..

On a comparison with Airbnb, probably yes, although The Jamroom Network Team and JR5 has definitely refreshed the visible culture. "families or tribes", nicely flexible. Core values upheld every day.

That's not a ruin on the road ahead. I have no idea what it is though. Maybe a run down pub with a cool back room for bands? Somewhere to build an audience from? Or just jam on (equally fine)?

Other than that thread was written by a guy also called 'brian', not sure what to take away from it.

Found the wikipedia article on what 'airbnb' is:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AirBnB

and that its a lodging website to which someone gave a ton of cash:
Quote: the company had raised $119.8 million in venture funding from Y Combinator,

Then they got a ton more cash:
Quote: In April 2014, the company closed on an investment of $450 million by TPG Capital

Was there a point of advice in particular that was meant to be followed? (spell it out for me, I'm slow.)

No, there was no point of advice. I certainly wouldnt be the one to give advice on anything like that.

I liked the article, I liked it's style, and it did make me think of JR. So I posted in off topic.
