One of our members wants to include a flyer (or a link to his flyer) in his announcement of his event. but he's not very tech-saavy. So I decided I'd try to add it for him (I know how to embed media). Unfortunately nothing worked... here's what I tried...

1. I added the file to my profile. I could see it to add embed in his event but it wouldn't show up there when we saved the event.

2. I changed the ownership of the file to him and tried to add it. Didn't work.

3. Changed the ownership of the event and the file to me. I was able to add embed the file. But when I tried to change ownership of the event back to him, the file was not there.... even when I then tried to change the file to him as well.

So any other thoughts, other than try to teach him how to embed his own file? For various reasons, it's not possible to talk with this person directly (he lives on the other side of the world from me). I could type out the directions but it seems to me that as master admin I should be able to embed files in someone else's event... I am (as I keep reminding people) the Queen of our site ;-)

Thanks for any ideas that I might try.

I'm not seeing an issue with this.
I can upload a flyer as a file item, then embed it in event description editor field, and it then shows as a downloadable item in the event description. Is that what your user (and you) is trying to do?
Thanks

So my user isn't very tech-saavy... he managed to set up his event but couldn't figure out how to add the flyer. I tried to add the flyer for him... it won't let me do that as "ABCD in Action" for some reason (even though I added the flyer as a downloadable item). I'm sure if he was tech-saavy, he would do it himself....

Here's what I did:
1. I went to his event
2. Clicked to "update" the event.
3. Clicked in the location where he wants to have the flyer (at the end of the announcement)
4. Clicked on Embed Local Media icon
5. Clicked on Embed This Media for the flyer
6. Saved the event and it didn't work... see attached file for what I got

What am I doing wrong? I'm editing his event (not my event) and the flyer is in his Files. Should I do it a different way?

I noticed that when I was the owner of the both the event and the flyer, I could do it... but then if I tried to transfer the event, the flyer turned into the attached screen shot as well.

Can you send us your admin login so we can check this out on your site?

Thanks!
