imported profiles have a location below the profile image
this is not a signup question from ning and isnt editable
(going code diving i assume its as simple as adding user_location user_zip user_country

but wanted you to know they are visible but not editable

Yes - There can be a 'location' entry in the Ning member archives so if that is the case it is imported as 'profile_location'. To make it editable use the form designer to create a 'profile_location' field in the profile account update form.

Quote: also noticed comments from inactive deleted or suspended members are showing up on new members that join...twice - See more at: https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/ning-to-jamroom/24179/location-lot-a-signup-question-or-editable-field

Are these from deleted/suspended members that were tagged as such in the Ning archive but were still imported? If so they need to be deleted or made inactive in Jamroom.

Paul - profile_location not user_profile_location?

Every other field in that form is pre-pended by user_ so just checking. This is the country, and is two characters, correct? For input and validation purposes.

its profile_location profile_country profile_zip
they are set in the profikle not the user
i hid all signup questions on shops etc but left the locations
the reason the signup questions were set at user level and cant be changed on the profiles and were irelevent to shops
a shop and a user might have a diferent location so they can be set profile to profile individually

Sorry, yes, three profile location fields are imported from Ning members, profile_location, profile_country and profile_zip. I guess these fields are hard coded for every Ning member on every Ning site, whereas 'signup questions' are set by Ning admins so that is why the end up as user fields in JR.

Are you saying that the comment "welcome dude" is what you posted when he joined a few days ago, and the two "id really recomend you read up on the info here on interlocking" were for somebody else, now deleted?

they came from somewhere i have no idea where but all i can assume is they were left over from members that used that id in the past
or from a wipe and reimport i dont know

cause some were only a month old others 5 years old

I was going to suggest that was the cause but wanted to check your data stores first. I know you did a lot of re-imports so I'm guessing that a load of comments somehow got orphaned and are now finding new homes as people sign up.
I'll check your datastores anyway and see if I can work out a way to delete any remaining orphaned comments.

Paul - The User Account form designer

http://www.thechocolatelife.com/user/form_designer/m=jrUser/v=account

will not let me add a field that is not prefixed user_

Paul and SE -

NN2R, I got this all sorted out.

SE - if you're having a problem with a system update to the skin, I'd create a new topic for it so it's easier to find and is top of mind, not buried.
