Latest Forum Posts
For some reason, the Latest Forum Posts content block is only reflecting changes I am making. This was working on Sunday and stopped working at some point Sunday evening, probably.

Newest Profiles

Since the @FBM-srl profile was created (this is a second profile in an account in a new quota to test the ability to share profiles among members) there have been at least two new member signups that I have approved that don't show up on this list.

I don't know that they are related but the visible behavior (not updating properly).

The only changes I was making to the site on Sunday evening (as I was watching the Super Bowl being streamed) was to go through every quota and make sure that the permissions were consistent across all the quotas.

If that helps narrow down the problem.

It sounds like something did change on your server - I can't think of any instances where things that "were" working just stopped for no reason.

A lot of site level templates require images in order for the profile to show - if the profiles do NOT have a profile image, they may not show (depending on your skin settings).

Brian -

If a profile does not have a profile image where is that tested? I am guessing it's in index.tpl in the following line:

{if $_conf.nsTCLSkin1_index_blog == 'on' || $_conf.nsTCLSkin1_latest_images == 'on'}

How do I change this test to see if that's the issue I am running into?

The Latest Forum Posts is now updating properly. The only change I made was to change a quota config, allowing signups for the default quota (this was getting in the way of members changing their quota). Could that be it?

It is:

ACP -> Skin Settings -> Media -> "Require Images" checkbox.

If that IS checked, then only profiles with a profile image will show. The variable in your templates will be:

$_conf.nsTCLSkin1_require_images

Okay, I see how this works now.

One thing to check on is that if I have a member whose profile is inactive and who has set global privacy to Profile Owners Only they still appear in this view - which I would not expect.

If you're viewing the site as YOU (master admin / profile admin) then you will see them. Try it as a normal user and you won't see them.

JR's privacy settings apply everywhere - AS LONG as the viewer is not an admin.

Makes sense. One reason I started up test accounts. I keep a test account in another browser entirely.

Closing this one down.
