its too late for me now im live but as im featuring the blogs im noticing all paragraphs all line breaks everythings gone and its all mashed up into 1 big long paragraph

just for future ning transfers umight wantto look into that

ps
i plan on doing an involved site builder demo vid
and a ning import
in 1
and posting it on creators
here too
and do an honnest appraisal of what i think ning did better and what you do better

dont worry the appraisals stacked in your favour about 2000 to 3

I notice that there is an inconsistency in formatting in my blogs and posts as well. Not sure exactly why or where. Might be a Ning export thing that the parser is having a problem with.

and paul i mentioned this elsewhere many of my pages were somehow assigned to a profile.. bo king i have no idea who that even is

however
it would be nice if stand alone pages truly stood alone like the groups had the sidebar and the profile header disabled

is there any way that can happen that stand alones have thier own template call that can be used to disable the profile elements like i did in groups

edit
and it they didnt have the name of the profile ahead of the page totle!
theres 1 page thats highly important that was ranking way upthere on google.. at the top
and was saving a ton of people a ton of hassles and wasted money
but now with the name of a random person i dont know 1st in the title i fear it wont randk so high

If its an admin user creating the page, They have the option of adding it as a stand alone page or a profile page.

If you want to pull a page off a profile and have it stand alone on the site, you can setup something at skin level to do that.

eg if you create a template called whatever.tpl in your skin, then its blank and will show up at:
your-site.com/whatever

The name of the template is the name in the URL.

so if you created a custom setup for pages you could have it any way you liked.

eg:
in whatever.tpl you could have
{capture name="template" assign="page_tpl"}
{literal}
    {foreach $_items as $item}
         {$item.page_body}
    {/foreach}
{/literal}
{/capture}

{jrCore_list module="jrPage" search1="_item_id = `$_post.option`" template=$page_tpl}

Then used the url

your-site.com/whatever/1/the-page-title

That would show just that page body in that location.

Alternatively you could see how the groups page is setup to do it, then copy that structure. I think from memory it puts {jrProfile_disable_sidebar} into the item_detail.tpl bar to disable the sidebar.

Could try that for pages too.

i added a disable header to the groups
heres the thing

many stand alone pages were assigned to the wrong user .. a non admin profile possibly even one that joined and never logged in again

now in your example.. will that include just the page body tecxt and not the full page and comments

see the issues are

pages are assigned to the wrong profiles therefore they have the wrong profile sidebar and header which i can disable for pages im sure.. but it also has the profile user name tacked on to the front of the title.. as well as in the url ofcourse the urls the least important factor the title however shouldnt have the profile name at allk for truly stand alone pages

stand alone pages are moved to the page creator

oh wait i think in page creator i can simple edit out the username in the title...
and set the profile sidebar off
then in profile header i should..i think be able to add something to turn off the header

i think you got me thinking and may have it all figured out
will update soon
