cant import pages .. cant access pages in group config

ok this is a big problem
i wasnt finding the pages where they should have been
so tried reimporting pages every 1 failed saying cant find contributer..
i re-imported groups and group discussions and then tried pages again all failed
then tried going into the page config it says..no groups imported
despite the fact i can access the groups themselves fine i just lost all my pages
(well the data's still in the archive)

so what do i do
help

all of em
but im re-uploadingthem to try again
think i need to crash and go at it in the morn too many oddlil issues wich i figured some out
biggest pain in the butts going to be search enginesre-indexing and a hell of alot of 404 hits till then
but updated the 404 template to say that we just did a huge upgrade and they should use the menu and search to find what they are looking for unfortunately pages were always a big trafic draw and arent included in the search that i saw anyway


but so far getting good feedback but like expecyted got 3 requests for a comment back button

Oh yeah that's true...the 'comment back' link on profile pages linking to the other person's comment wall is going to be a big thing.

Are you talking dozens, hundreds, or thousands of pages?

Are you getting lots of members signing in now for the first time?- is their temp password working and are they getting signed in ok on their own?

a few signed in and signed up
i just posted a comment back tip 2 minutes ago lol

well it was maybe 30-40 or so pages but at least a dozen were jno longer needed
but some are cruicial

argh re-uploaded and tried again it wont import says no profile found for every 1 of them
thisis not good

If the pages originally imported ok but now the import is saying 'profile not found', then the original owner of the pages must have been deleted from your Jamroom site.

Yeah I had a similar snafu for groups that had been created by members no longer on my network. Paul helped me with that.

no thats not it since i crteated most of the psages and its every single page not importing all my pages are lost

Lost? Can't you just copy/paste from your ning network and make the 20 or 30 new jr pages?

and the 200 plus commebts each some having thousands possibly the most important pages its the comments that are important
and im looking ast my trreafic more then 1/2 closer to 705 are looking for the pages that dont exist

i need to fixthis and fast

paul im really lost and worried i cant import these no matter what i do

i hate to ask this but its extremelty imoirtant
any way you can create a custom script that imports all these pages into 1 profile i create just for the pages
in otherwords ignoring the "created by" or contributer and import it all into 1 location

if it can import into the same "main forums' that wiould be the best
