Hi Everyone,
Just to introduce myself, I am the owner of paintmyphoto.net a ning 2 site which it is hoped can be migrated to jamroom. We are currently evaluating our options. So far JR seems the best option. I will have questions, and am working with a talented lady who may introduce herself here soon. We have had very helpful communications with the developers of JR already which is very encouraging!
Our site has over 100k photos and 20k members which may be a problem as the archive tool only goes up to the last 10k items. We will be contacting ning about how to proceed once we are further along.
Looking forward to our discussions,

Roy.

Hi Roy - welcome to Jamroom!

Thanks for checking in - I know we've been in touch via email - I think Jamroom will work really well for your site.

Hopefully Ning can help you out in getting all your archive data exported - let us know how that works out.

Thanks!

Hi Roy - Welcome to Jamroom.
Yes, we have been talking to Ruth about your potential import via a support ticket and she has mentioned the possible limitations with Ning archives. I do find it odd that they state they limit their archives to 10,000 items, but can say that the biggest site I've imported so far was of 15,700 members and 16,200 photos, and the client did not say that there had been any issues creating the archive. So hopefully the same will apply to you, or Ning will advise you of a good work-around.
Feel free to ask further questions here, and to contribute to other forum topics.
Thanks

When I began making my ning archives a couple years ago for safekeeping, I ran into the 10,000 limits. I filed a ning support ticket with my frustration and they lifted the 10,000 limit for me somehow on their end at that time. Not sure if they still can or will do that, or if it remained in effect for very long or not...but give it a shot.
