ogg conversion failures

when doing mass conversions of media files they seemto go very very slow compared to when you just upload 1 (i mean it takes days to do only 100 or so files)
in the system log i see nothing but this message over and over
unable to convert ogg file for: audio_file/1585

i selected to convert to ogg as it said it helps with compatability with older devices
but it seems to always fail and its most likely why the queue processing is sooooo slow

any idea the cause?

Sounds like you have some corrupted files. Note that when ffmpeg is doing a conversion, I've seen some cases where the conversion can take a VERY long time - if you look at the errors coming out it's running into hundreds/thousands of bad "frames" and it spends all it's time trying to "reset" itself.

Make sure you're using the JR provided FFMpeg too - not one that was already on your system. If you still have issues, delete the offending files and retry, or turn off OGG conversion.

Having done tens of thousands of conversions on this end I've not seen it but maybe on one or two files (and they were bad files).

Hope this helps!

i believe i am using the jr provided ffmpeg and it looks like a hell of alot of failures leading me to think its every 1 of them

i was doing a reconversion cause i changed the default bitrate
i am doing a fresh upload now and have just 36 more gigs to go then will be doing a full import and overwrite
ill keep an eye on the log then i do have the activity watcher installed is there a way to have it watch that conversion and log the whole process so you can debug

if the queue finishes before the uploads done ill try uploading a few songs and see if i get the same errors on uploads as im getting on large batch conversions
