I have just loaded up the core using Arvixe 1 click connect. No changes, as just wanting to learn the system. Tried to set up a profile and the emails are getting rejected:

If your emails aren't being received by Yahoo Mail accounts, here's information that should help you understand why this is happening.

Why you're seeing this error
Your message wasn't delivered because Yahoo was unable to verify that it came from a legitimate email sender.

Your email failed one or more of the following industry-wide authentication checks that Yahoo uses to verify emails are truly sent from the domains they claim to originate from. Click an authentication method's link below to learn more.

SO: What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong :). You will not be able to send email until you have setup a domain on your account and have properly configured reverse DNS for your domain. You will also need to setup an SPF record and (possibly) a proper DKIM (domain key). Arvixe can assist you with all of this - it's not something Jamroom has control over - it has to be setup at your domain level.

Hope this helps!

I have a domain set up and the site is working. So perhaps the other routes will be my answer.

The alternative to having your server send the email is the mailgun plugin:

"Mailgun Email Plugin"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/networkmarket/57/mailgun-email-plugin

"Documentation for Mailgun plugin"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/modules/282/mailgun-smtp

My local server cant send emails, but with that plugin installed into jamroom it can.

The free mailgun.com plan allows up to 300 emails to be sent per day so its probably plenty.

Setting those other things up should get it working - this error:

"Your message wasn't delivered because Yahoo was unable to verify that it came from a legitimate email sender."

is because Yahoo requires Domain Keys:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DomainKeys

without a valid Domain Key Yahoo will not accept email from your domain:

Hope this helps!
