organizing after import questions

im seeing everything imported into profiles and i know its a profilecentric system
buti see on here you have links documentation forums etc

im wondering how id set up and organize content into a main site forum blog etc etc while then still alowing individual profile personal forums etc

is say for instance this ning to jr ..just a profile?

our main forums is highly valued and kinsda needs to be the central focus .. although im looking into a more multi fasceted approach it just wont do to have the info spread around over 14,000 profiles
how do you say take individual discussions and reapply themn to the main forums..and the catagories within them

and a semi related question can you have nested forums or categories

by that i mean a structure like

movie forums
horror
indie
foreign
baliwood
music forums
reggae
rock
haqrd rock
metal

Yes - "ning-to-jamroom" is a profile, just like yours and mine here, along with "the-jamroom-network" and a few others on this site, but they are in their own quota so that they can have features to make them work as site pages, like this.
So, presuming that your main imported forum, belongs to 'admin', make 'admin' the forum page.

The Jamroom forum is what you see here. It cannot nest categories. But maybe each category could be a profile and a page built to show profiles in the 'forum category' quota, if you see what I mean? That would indirectly create another layer of categories.

ok let me see if i understand thisds right as i was just playing around
i created a profile
dreadlocks forums
assigned it to me
but see no wauy to assign content from 1 to the other so
i will need to do the following
step 1 change the name of the 1st account soaringeagle to dreadlocks forums after deleting the other 1 will that change the url i hope
then use the set page as landing page to set a custom landing page revolving arounf the forums
or to the forums themselves
can you use smarty codes in the create a page to do stuff like show the 20 mist recent discussions 20 most recent pghotos the latest blogs activity
oh by discussions i dont mean 20 bnewest added though thats a good list to have too but 20 mist recently active or replied to

i guess what im wondering (i think) is if you can place codes within the page to add seemless lists

i think im going to just buy seemless and try out what im thinking but have a feeling that this will be a major topic as ppl move to ning
