Forums no longer accessible – being logged out?

I was updating quota permissions to allow non-admin quotas to use the forums and added a solution to a post in one of the forums. Now When I click on the forums tab in the nav from the ACP I get logged out.

https://archive.thechocolatelife.com/community/forums nothing has changed about the link

Even so – the forums should be visible. They are also missing on the home page in the section reserved for the forums.

I reset the caches (but not the PHP opcache).

Curious to know what might have changed.

I did not change the base URL – everything was working properly yesterday and until I made the quota change.

When I change the URL to go to the home page I see that I am logged in - but the Forums are not visible.

"....I was updating quota permissions...." - That looks like the first place to look at. Go see if whatever quota the 'community' profile is in still has forum module access.

If that is all good, reset the caches and run the integrity check.

This solved the problem - Thanks! I was wondering about this as it’s been a while since I’ve been looking at quota configs: it seems a little counterintuitive that quotas have profiles but it may be that I am more than a bit rusty here.

One thing I am noticing, however, is that the Integrity Check always hangs: - it stops here (in the attached image) and doesn’t terminate as expected.

Yeah 'quota' = set of features. So if you have a paid quota and a non-paid quota then paying moves the profile from one quota to the other.

Its hanging on 'site builder - construction kit' thats a depreciated module that's no longer in the marketplace. If you disable it then run the integrity check again it should complete.

When I try to remove the Site Building module – one way is by clicking on the Info button in the attached image – an HTTP 500 error is generated. (The same happens when I select the module in the Site Builder section of the left nav. There is a D in a green square to the right of the module name.)

Is there any other way to remove the module? Without a reinstall?

You could delete it from the file system
/modules/jrSiteBuilderConstructionKit/

Not sure of the exact module name its been a long time gone. What slightly concerns me is if your site is using it then you won't want to delete it.

Site Builder used to be 3 or so modules then got combined into one module. If you had both of them on the site that could cause issues.

Might be better to copy it to a local folder rather before deleting so it can be restored.

If you want to send admin level user info to support at jamroom dot net I can take a look.

There is already an admin-level account. I will update the password and send it to you privately.

I have SFTP access to the folder in question. Does removing the module(s) in question remove it from the config?

I installed the module a long time ago (2017?) and Paul and I may have explored using it to update the look/feel. In 2017 I put the site into read-only mode and turned off new member signups. The only maintenance I did was to update the core and modules when I received email notices to do so.

I have no remembrance it was deprecated or to the instruction to remove it.

If you're using it and its working then nothing needs to be done, you didn't HAVE to move to the newer system when it came out, but if you did then you did need to turn off the older system.

Send me the details and I'll see if there are any errors in the log that might point to what the issue is.

THE ISSUE: For some reason the integrity check does not complete.
