im running a dedicated server but even with a very high performance test rating im starting to have slow loads
i was recomended to turn on some server side caching options but was told that i should ask the jr developers what server side caching options would work best with jr

motes
im running apache 2.4 on centos 6.6 64 bit newest php i run tomcat 7 ..because im tryingto work out how to use opensearchserver to replace the jr search (no offence guys but its absolutely essenttial the jr search sucks opensearchserver has customizable relevence url filtering (module search) custom renderers (can extract youtube or photo data etc) and just would make an awesome replacement for the jr search

but back on topic what are the best server cache options

the jr search sucks

I couldn't disagree more, but you can have your own opinion :)

We use Xcache on Jamroom hosting and it works well.

Are you using the full text indexing? Results are ranked based on the relevance/density of the words you are searching for.

ACP -> Listing -> Search -> put a check in "Enable Full Text Search" and save. It will take a little bit to build it's index, so don't make any further changes in the search module until the index has been built.

Let me know if that helps.

It certainly should not take days - even on a very huge site (larger than you) I would expect it be done in less than an hour.

Go into the ACP -> Core -> Tools -> Queue Viewer and see if there are any queue entries. It definitely should not be taking 2 hours - it could index 20 million items in 2 hours.

It's not actually running - I have a bug fix in for this so it will not show you the message. This is happening due to the Queue Client being installed since you are on JR hosting.

That should have been way, way faster than 3 hours - I'm not sure why it would have taken that long.

Uh-oh.
It seems after I did all the new updates I'm getting hundreds of these errors...
A full integrity check didn't help.

This is not related to the search changes - there is an invalid order_by in a call on your site - we just want to track it down. The good news is this error does not keep anything from working - it's there to let us know that a query has been built incorrectly. I think I still have the login for your site so will check it out.
