solved Email Confusion

I'm starting up our 2 sites this week and I have a test group of dj's that have signed up for access that I had to approve. I set the system up for admin approval.

So I went in and approved their profiles. And then I found out that I then must "activate" their user account. (Seems redundant once the profile was approved.)

My issue seems to be that no email notifications really went out to anyone.

So my question is with JR hosting and the mailgun account is there some clearly detailed step by step documentation that helps me figure out what I am supposed to do to set email up for all of the domains in my JR hosting account to be able to send out things like activation notices?

It all seems quite overwhelming and I guess I thought that since the JR hosting integrated with mailgun (or maybe I misread or misunderstood that feature ) that it was automatically set up.

I found some setting in the email module that seems to refer to some SMTP settings for the email account.

I guess I just need to know where to start and then what to check for next.

There's no need to do this - are you approving them from the dashboard?

Are you using your REAL domain or the jamroomhosting.com domain? You have to be using your real domain before you can send email.

It is - all you need to do is enter your Mailgun API key.

There's nothing for me to recommend without know what the actual issue is you are seeing. Note that you can view ACTUAL delivered email in your domain settings -> Email log.

Hope this helps!

@brian On the email issue. There is a mail log for one of the domains but not for the other. (What was really odd is that the mail log on the first account is shown as being imported from the second one.) I can only assume something to do with me importing the one site into the other?

I also found a lot of undelivered mail in my spam folder from mailgun that says my domain is unverified and requires DNS configuration... So this sounds like something I need to do at mailgun? Or it something I can do from JR?

When you said above ( It is - all you need to do is enter your Mailgun API key. ) WHERE do I enter that API key?

Thanks @paul I had already done that. What I'm really confused about is that I don't see any email options for one of the domains. I'm still thinking that I have to do something at mailgun on the domain they keep returning the mail from because they claim the domain is unverified and requires DNS configuration. That almost sounds like I may have to go to my domain registrar and change some settings?

All3 of your domains are correctly setup with email - they all show "Email Setup" and "Email Delivery Log" which means they are configured correctly in Mailgun - you should be good to go. Note that one of your domains has not been switched to your domain from the jamroomhosting.com domain, so that one will not validate until you update name servers.

If you feel there's an issue please open a ticket with us and we can check it out.

Thanks!
