I have my domain name registered with a new place as of 3 days ago- do I need to call them to have them set these settings for me? What exactly do these 'linode.com' settings DO ? (in layman's terms please)
Or, should I ignore this?

This is something you should be able to do. Have they given you a login to manage your domains with them?

Strumelia - I removed your image since it had part of the jamroom password on it - make sure you don't share that anywhere.

As for nameservers, yes - there should be a place in your Domain Registrar to "set nameservers" - you want to enter those nameservers there.

Your registrar should be able to assist you if you can't find it.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, didn't realize I shouldnt show even a portion of my Password- will be more careful

Ok I will try to get into my domain settings there in my domain Registrar account. and I'll look for the place to enter them. :) (update):my domain name transfer is still pending, so I will have to wait a couple more days to be able to make any settings changes to my JR domain name)

The other thing is this:
Now that I'm on JR server, do i also need to change my Marketplace ftp settings as shown here? or do I not need to bother?:

FTP settings has this as the ? help info:
Quote: If the system is unable to write directly to the module and skin directories, you can enter your FTP Information here and the system will attempt to install items via FTP.

Jamroom servers are probably not going to need this info because they're setup to run jamroom. If you get an error from something saying its not connecting then might need to go back and look at entering the settings.

Ok thank you, got it!
And I also now know how/where to set the linode nameservers in my domain registrar settings, once the domain is finished being transferred.
