Can you clarify the issues you're having? If you are a VIP member then we can follow this up on a priority support ticket - otherwise post here and we can do our best to help.

Thanks!

The problem is a '500 Internal Server Error error'.

That just means your server needs to be setup in a different way to allow the files to run.

Its the server thats throwing that error, not jamroom. So the first thing to look at is to make sure your server meets the requirements for running jamroom:

"Requirements"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/getting-started/774/requirements

Then go check the servers error_log to see what its complaining about. The error log will give you the file that is causing the 500 error.

Yeah this most likely is that mod_rewrite is not enabled on the account - on the server do:

sudo a2enmod rewrite
sudo service apache2 restart

Hope this helps!

Arvixe have offered to get some of their support staff up to speed with the Jamroom system and be active here in the Jamroom forums.
http://www.arvixe.com/jamroom-hosting

So that's probably the recommended one right now.

Coupon code: jamroom (for 20% off).

It probably can be made to work with 1and1, we just need to figure out what the server is complaining about, then fix it so its happy.

Previously I have seen this issue when the .zip file is uploaded to the server then decompressed on the server. The files need their permissions changed to match what the server wants.

The solution in that case is to unpack the jamroom.zip file on your local machine then upload it in the unpacked state.

Is your 1and1 server a dedicated server or is it shared hosting? If it is dedicated, contact me at brian [at] jamroom [dot] net with your root login info and Jamroom URL and login info and I can check it out - I'd like to see what the issue is and fix it for you if I can.

Hope this helps!

Sounds good - let us know if you have any issues as JR should work 100% on Arvixe. If not, I need to know and will make sure everything is working 100% awesome.

Thanks!

Brian - We need another forum for hosting maybe or a dedicated thread? There have been a few people that have had issues with 1 and 1.

I had to file a BB Complaint to get an issue resolved. I used them for an email only account and paid for a year in advance and they killed my account after 3 weeks because my domain was not with them. I said that was the point and sent them to the link.

I switched service and spoke to their billing dept and the guy credited my account back for the full year due to the issue. Then I was getting threatening emails saying I owed them for a year's worth of service. This went on for months and took probably 20+ hours after numerous emails and phone calls. After the BB Complaint it all stopped.

What bothered me is they did not know their products or understand what their business did. Great customer service huh?

Ouch - what a mess.

Yeah - a hosting questions/server questions forum is not a bad idea - I'll get that setup here when I can.

Thanks!
