solved status update uploads

Is there a way to disallow status update uploads or edit a template to just allow text updates,

I am using a2hosting. Wen a user uploads through the update status, the audio or video goes to /public_html/data/media instead of say, /public_html/data/media/1/417 and wont process.

I just want to take away those options because im pretty sure with jamroom hosting this problem wont occur but i wont be getting back to jr hosting for a few more months.

You can disable Quick Share here in the Timeline module:
/timeline/admin/global/section=Quick+Share

Just checked out the Quick Share feature on a2hosting and its working ok for me. Any hints at how to reproduce it so I can see what you're seeing?
