I'm finding my audio is starting to pop and crackle when recording with ffmpeg.

ffmpeg -f alsa -i pulse -f x11grab -show_region 1 -s hd720 -i :0.0+342,1284 -vcodec libx264 ./out.mp4

eg: listen here about the 3:40 mark
The ACP (Admin Control Panel) in JR5

Wondering if anyone knows how I can get that cleaner.

Thanks.

Usually this is "drop outs" from your hard drive (i.e. the stream to the HD is paused for like 1/10th a second). Usually going with an SSD will fix that right up. Also - not sure what you're using for a microphone, but USB based stuff can cause the CPU to service the USB and lead to drop outs/pops, so something that is external with it's own preamp going into your line in is usually better.

But an SSD usually fixes everything :)

cheers dude, I'll try writing to my main drive which is SSD and move the USB sound card around the USB slots. It might be on a 1.1 slot now.

I'll try moving it to a 2.0 slot to see if it make a difference.
