There used to be a printed document of everything and since updates can not find it. Easier to follow and than going back and forth on screens.

did begin work to get a docs-to-pdf module working a while back, but it got moved to the back-burner in favor of other things, haven't picked it up again.

Its something I would like to see too, but for now its on the low priority list.

@entertainmentworld the ability to search documentation online and know it is fully up to date are much more useful than in a pdf imo.

@michael, I also have a pdf module of sorts, it uses mPdf but it's not very sophisticated.

You can see it in action here:
http://academicskills.uwe.ac.uk/general/workbooks/assignment-planner/12073/assignment-planner
Create your schedule dates and the Create Pdf button will appear.
The Planner requirement was for students to be able to save their plan to a pdf as they cannot log into our system (which would be a better way for them to save and adjust their schedule). In reality though, hardly anyone ever uses the pdf facility.

I could look at making that a bit more versatile if it would be useful.

@ultrajam, the biggest issue was getting the docs looking good in a pdf format, the way they are they're not laid out in a PDF style format, so there is a lot of wasted space.

WOW your docs look impressive!

lol, yeah that's our shibboleth/athens single sign on stuff. the library pays for all sorts of resources (publications, databases, etc) which are available to the students when they are logged in to the university network whether on or off campus. Mostly those urls are hidden in buttons and links, but not in the pdfs as buttons don't work.

If there were many people saving the pdfs that might get refined a bit, but it isn't worth the time since so few people actually use the pdf button. Our main docs (library workbooks) don't have a pdf button, only the assignment planner because that was a requested feature.

If it were up to me students would be able to log in and save/update their schedule and then it would be a really useful tool. But logins are a little way ahead on our cautious road map :)

This is really what it is about. The problem with a PDF is that it is basically outdated as soon as it is downloaded, and then the site owner is relying on it being up to date.
