Hi Jamroom Community,

Running the latest Jamroom hosted on my own LAMP Server.

Updated Core from 5.x to 6.04 on the 31st December.

Followed the instructions here to change the folder name https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/howto/1077/howto-change-the-jamroom-directory-or-domain

Updated the config.php file with new URL
Deleted Cache for default skin used jrNovaLight
Renamed folder.

Once this was done I couldn't login to the jamroom, loading icon just spins for a second/no error.
Background doesn't load
Top tracks/artists loading icons just spin.

I've reverted back to original folder name for now.

Any ideas?

Also, Doesn't look like I can edit the templates since the latest JR 6 core Update/jrNovaLight skin update. Appears to take the edit but doesn't generate a new .tpl file.

The issue could be the LAMP stack. Suggest installing a new jamroom install there and test to see if it works. Jamroom requires a linux server.

You can download the open source default stack here:
https://www.jamroom.net/open-source

Then follow these instructions if anything goes wrong:

Docs: "Quick FTP or SFTP install guide"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/getting-started/4603/quick-ftp-or-sftp-install-guide

to make sure jamroom will run on your local setup.

The server requirements are here:

Docs: "Server Requirements"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/getting-started/774/server-requirements

If you find that jamroom doesnt work on your LAMP system, you can use virtualbox.org to setup a real linux server on your local machine.

There is a guide to setting up a real server here:

Guide: "High Performance Jamroom"
https://www.jamroom.net/brian/documentation/guides/1188/high-performance-jamroom-on-digitalocean

and another guide here:

Docs: "Setting up a debugging envionment"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/jamroom-developers-guide/129/setting-up-a-debugging-environment

Also the guide you link to is one on how to change the directory of the entire site, but it seams like what you're trying to do is change the directory name of a single skin inside the site, for that you'd want to CLONE the skin. That will change its directory name if you want to customize:

Docs: "Creating your own skin"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/skin-customization/839/creating-your-own-skin

Thanks for the response.

It passes all checks and meets requirements.

I'm just trying to change the main folder name not the single skin. It's like it's caching somewhere and referencing the old URL/folder/content.

I can run up another jamroom 5, test then update to 6 and test on another site on the same server and see if the issues persist.

Hmm, sorted issue with folder rename. Appeared to be a strange local cache/cookie issue after the folder rename.

Ahh and I see from your link above regarding the templates which now makes sense. So the templates can be "Reset" if need be. Cheers.

"These template alterations will be stored in the database, not a file.

This has 2 effects. One is that it makes it easy to revert to the default original file that is stored in the file system. A bonus if you make a mistake that breaks something.

and Two, that it makes it difficult to hire a developer to come and fix stuff for you because they will be wanting to work with files. If you are going to do extensive changes to your Jamroom site, editing the files via FTP is the recommended method. "
