Merging jam 5 sites

Is there any way to merge two jam5 sites? Or import users and profiles from an older jam5 install to a newer implementation?

Not fully at the moment. I have started work on a general purpose Importer module that will ultimately be able to do this, but its completion date is unknown.
You say merge users and profiles? I did start work on another module to do this some time ago and iirc that got as far as merging just users and profiles, so if that is all you want, I could take a relook at that?

Thanks Paul,

No that's fine. I know you guys are really busy. I just have a huge project of first upgrading an old site from 4 to 5 then some how merging the results with a seperate jam5 site.

The first part is easy, thanks to you guys. I'll figure out the second part.

What's your timescale? The new (general purpose) Importer module might be able to do this, maybe February time next year.

My timescale is by end of January, so February would be great. It would definitely allow me to focus on going into production knowing I could always add or import data in phases.

Hi,

Any news on the (general purpose) Importer module? Is there any others techniques that I can use to take the artists from one jam5 site and merging it with another?

Yes - I was thinking about getting back to this module the other day. Its on the todo list for this month.

Hi - Can you open a ticket (support[at]jamroom[dot]net) and send me the sites you want to merge along with their admin login and FTP details?
I now have modules to do this and would like to test them. Note that your sites will not be affected at all at this stage - I will only be pulling their content onto one of my development sites.
