solved User profile page Timeline widget displaying "no items found"

This maybe a skin issue, but the Timeline widget on our profile page is not updating with the contents of the user timeline. Also, when clicking directly on the Timeline and puling up its display page, posts display fine but any images only show links. Clicking them loads the image. Any suggestions on how to get it to load the timeline and images in the timeline normally?

In your ACP > Site > Media URL Scanner > Global Config, check the Expanded Media check box and save your settings.

Be sure to reset your cache as well.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Douglas,

I made those changes to the Expanded Media, but it didn't solve the Timeline issue. Attached is a picture of my personal profile page showing the Timeline displaying 'no items found' and my actual Timeline page showing it does contain 'stuff'. Any suggestions for this?

Maybe?
It seems that the Timeline display module that sits on the profile page can not find the list of Timeline items to be displayed. This could be related to the items not getting tagged to be displayed on the Timeline, but I am not sure how to check that. I don't see any (obvious) global check boxes or setting that seem to effect this.

If you've added items to a profile as the admin, they will not show on that profiles timeline, you'll want to login as the profile user in order for the newly added items to show on the timeline.

Only items added to a profile by the profile user will show on the timeline.

Hope this helps!

Every Timeline widget on evert profile page on the site is empty, even when they have items in the Timeline on their profile. The same behavior happens as an admin, or as a standard user.

This is kind of strange... I do see the issue on your site but I'm not sure why.

I tested it on your site in the jamroom-admins account you have setup for us...

https://theartsherpa.com/jamroom-admins

and it worked as it should. The newly created Gallery shows on the profile index timeline and I tested the profile index timeline form as well without issues.

But I can not find a reason for your other profile pages to not have entries on their profile index page when they have entries on their profile "Timeline" page.

I'll pass this along and see if one of the other guys can figure this out.

Hope this helps!

I have the same with my skin, a heavily modified cloned version of mediapro, even if I switch to another skin, but not experiencing it on the dev site. I know I will have to redo my skin entirely for Jr6 so wasn't too concerned as I am in a holding pattern right now. Thought it was a weird issue only for me, like so many things I have had to tweak along the way with my skin.

I have spent weeks trying to figure it out to no avail and come to the conclusion it might be some combination of modules I have on my main site. If I get time I will continue digging.

This has been fixed - sorry it took a bit to figure this one out. Root cause was there were "competing" _profile_id checks from both the timeline and follower modules which were resulting an match case that would never be found (_profile_id = 0). This only happened if the "include_followed" jrCore_list parameter was used.

This is fixed on your site and I've got this fixed in the next core release.

Hope this helps!

I didn't know that there was an include_followed parameter for jrCore_list.

Thanks :)
