After searching the forum, I found only 3 topics on Nginx and all three were closed. I'm going to be switching to Nginx shortly and wanted to start this topic to see if there was any updated information available about running Jamroom on Nginx.

Brian's been interested in Ngix for a while:

Quote: Note: for those of you wondering why I didn't mention FPM, just hold your horses - I'll be covering FPM setup under the (hopefully coming soon) guide to running Jamroom 5 under Nginx.

but its not something we've got around to yet.

I started reading about Nginx in 2012, but have yet to use it over Apache. I was turned onto http://centminmod.com/ and have been looking it over and studying it. I have a dedicated server at OVH and I can get a much better server if I drop cpanel. They have enterprise and hosting level servers. The hosting level servers come with the control panel of your choice but you get less ram and cheaper chips.

I really like Nginx - let me know if you see any issues. If I remember correctly, I did run into an issue with what is know as JR's "shutdown function" - this is where the server detaches from the client and will turn into a queue worker. Nginx with PHP-FPM would not "detach" from the client like Apache would. I have not tested in quite some time though, so let me know if you see issues.

Hope this helps!

I'm going to install it on my testing box and see what happens.
