Question about Jamroom Import 4 to 5

So, gonna start thinking about my JR4 to JR5 migration.

Current setup is master/cluster w/ over 125GB on the cluster.

1. Do all the profiles have to be moved to the master, before using the import?
2. How much granularity do I have for the import, meaning exactly what can be selected during the import?

The reason why I ask, is I'm really interested in testing out the site, w/ all the users migrated over, minus the audio.
I want to make sure the OneAll module will work w/ the migrated users.
Then, I want to only bring over the audio from users that have been active for a certain amount of time.

Or do you recommend I just delete what I can up front, and then migrate the whole site over in one shot?

Please advise!
Brian

Download and install the jrImport module on a JR5 test site. You can then check out all the options under its Global tab.
Basically, you can select whatever you want to import, so yes, you need to import artists, members and users first, then you can run it again just selecting songs, or whatever.
You can filter out artists/members with no image and/or no uploads. It doesn't check for inactivity but that can be simply added to the script. I could advise you on how to do that.
Artists/members on a cluster are ok - it'll find them.

Thanks! Does it work across webhosts, or does the import need to take place on the same webhost? Meaning, can the destination website be a different host?

Yep - It works across hosts. When setting it up, you get to set the source JR4 URL.
