I love the map feature and some of my fellow researchers have said the same thing! What is the best way to put in a residence so it appears (general area at least) on the map? I have been putting the full address in the location, but I am wondering if there is a better way? Thanks! ~ Lisa

Yeah this is tricky - I've found the best way to do it is to load Google Maps in another tab and "experiment" a bit with it - I've seen addresses that are no where close on the map, and other addresses that are not found. For the most part Google Maps is pretty good at "figuring out" what you mean, but it doesn't hurt to test it first.

Also - if you're getting back in time, and you've got relatives from say "Prussia" (or any other country that no longer exists today) then you'll want to do a Google Maps search on JUST the town name and see what modern day country it exists in, and use that as the Location (if you want it to be mapped).

Hope this helps!
