When I am updating "Joe Smith" and I want to upload the 1880 census, is it best to do it from the sources section or from his profile in the tree? I've been uploading documents from the tree, but if there is a better way I'd like to do it that way instead. Sorry for the gazillion questions... :-) ~ Lisa

In my opinion, definitely as a source - I think anything that is used as a source to an Event should be created as a Source. You can do this from the "Sources" section by creating a new source first, OR when you are creating a new event you can quickly add a new source - in the "New Source Title" just put the source title in - I'd recommend something like:

Joe Smith - 1880 US Federal Census

then when you click "create event", the event will be created and you'll be forwarded over to the Source form to upload the actual census image/PDF - then just click save there and you'll come right back to Joe Smith's timeline and you'll see the new event.

Hope this helps!

Yes, it does help! As I am adding folks and events I am questioning how I am doing it and wonder if there is a better way... and YES, there is! Thanks!
