solved 6.0.4 to 6.0.5 core update not completing

it seems to me to be a marketplace issue? i cant be sure but tried in multiple browsers
it just keeps spinning and spinning no error message nothing in queue viewer
hence why i think its having issues transferring the files from the marketplace
other then the transfer the only operations done on servers to update the symlink .right?
(unless db fields need modifying)
i left it spinning for like 20 minutes now and ..nothing*

ps we NEED a tech support/bug report forum ..deciding between install and configure and template customization etc always leaves me putting tech support questions in random places since there is no forum category that's appropriate for posts like these.

debugging
viewed activity log saw a few invalid search criteria in jrCore_db_search_items parameters
and
slow jrCore_db_search_items query: 0.812 seconds
when i clicked "errors only' button i got a 500 error
and his appeared in error log

refresh the page and re-run it.

Then when the list of things to update comes up, update the MARKETPLACE by itself first so its at its newest version.

could be a slow network connection or a connection issue.

hat was my instinct however YOU CAN'T you can't update thye marketplace, or anything else until the cores updated

let me try it on my smaller site

furthermore, no jrcore 6.0.5 directory when ftp
so its definitely not transferring files from marketplace to the server

geez as a test, i installed system and db backup module so its not having issues communicating with marketplace server only updating the core (about to attempt restarting mariadb)

restarting litespeed and mariadb repairing tables optimizing tables nothing has helped

Just updated an old dev site from 6.0.1 to 6.0.5 no issues. My guess is there is a firewall or network issue between your server and Jamroom.net. Try again later and see if works.

i managed to install a new module though..so if i can install from marketplace it should be communicating with marketplace
its just not updating

The Backup module is 45kb in size. The Core is 10mb, so there's likely a throughput issue. There's no issue on this end sending the file out, so it's either an issue no your server or on the network between.

but ill wait and try tomorow

i know its unlikely but
could these be the cause
(see screenshot)
theres no workers to reset both say pending
both times i tried optimize all tables from phpmyadmin i got errors
but would a messed up queue affect other sites on the server

update to this weirdness
must have left the big site updating for hours cause when i got the nightly update email i clicked the link and the core was not in the list..double checked and 6.0.5 was installed
other sites not so lucky (yet) so leaving that to run a coule hours and see
ps everything but the core is updating quickly

and last note..damn you guys been busy!

ok this is weird
the big site somehow updated
the small new site wont after 24 hours of trying
i get cannot connect to update server

BUT ONLY FOR THE CORE
if i use update all ii see several update just fine then it gets to the core, and stops after awhile i gget a message about connection lost to server

make sure the site that is not updating correctly has the latest version of php. I heard this was a problem on php 5.4 and once the server was updated to 7.0+ the issue went away.

ah thnx i knew it had to be something like that
i'll try, had lil issues getting php 7 and litespeed to play nice together

both are running 5.3.3 1 eventually updated the other still has not

got php 7.0.14 working now but freedomswings.org still wont update the core
dreadlockssite has after days of trying no idea why

correction it updated (after integrity check with all options) but now multiple modules i have liscences for say no liscence yet they still update as if theres a valid liscence (which there is)

like sharethis
last nights updates thoigh there were several
viewed liscence details says sharethis can be used on up to 2 sites, i only have 2 sites active at the momment
there was a 3rd i started but never completed and did not install many modules at aklon it

Try releasing any domains you are not using from your licenses section:

released most but heres the deal
freedomswings.org was developped on fwi.dreadlockssite.com
in fact it still uses the same account space on the server i just modified the vhosts to point to it
so technically they are 1 in the same
when i try to release them from fwi.dreadlockssite.com it says i need to delete the modules b4 releasing
it looks like it was released but still asking to re-purcase
i am pretty certain that i had purchased everything that i already didnt have a valid liscence for
this started happening a couple months ago

suggest deleting all the domains you are not using for your licenses so the system knows there are licenses available.

Then on the site you're trying to get the modules installed in but they are saying "no license" delete the module from the system and re-install it from the marketplace. That will leave the data but allow you to reinstall the module since the licenses are available.
