Another Profile Centric Question & Facebook

I am thinking jr videos may also be profile centric and wondering if that is correct?

Sooner or later I have to address a problem I am having when sharing a video on facebook
When you click on the video on facebook using a mobile device it takes you to my profile page. the viewer has to scroll down past a great deal of content including my profile photo- my posting guidelines button- my stats- my about me and a great deal of other stuff just to get to the video ( which is totally crazy to me)

So my question is "are JR Videos profile Centric in that we are stuck with viewing them inside someones profile page?

Also concerning facebook- hw do we make a video icon watermark show over the video thumbnail when posted to facebook instead of just a great big image? All other videos I see on facebook have this icon in the center to indicate its a video and to start it
do we have that functionality?

Thanks

You can play videos anywhere on your site, they do not have to be played from the profiles video page.

If you want a video to play on FB or embed a video player to FB, your site will need to be SSL certified. FB doesn't allow media embedded on their site if it doesn't come from and SSL site.

Thank you Douglas
At this point I do not want the videos to play on facebook- I want the viewer to come to my site to watch it

If you click on Any JR Video on my site it opens in the profile of the person that uploaded it- which in the case of my profile can take some work to reach

What are th setings to get thm to either open in a stand alonepage- a window or yusing some sort of anchor to get it to go directly to the video on the screen when clicked?

if you have a chance click this link from a cell phone if you have a chance

to see the behavior im talking about

My goal is "I want you to land on the video player and not on a picture of me"

I think the solution here is going to be to hide the left column when a user clicks on a video- just like the solution for making the groups open in a 12 co layout on profile pages.
If you are available fro small quick pay jobs like this pls email me derrickhand300 -yahoo
Thanks!

I'm not sure that will be possible without some serious modifications to how the share feature works. That is what your using to share to Facebook correct? The SareThis module?

Well actually I try 2 different ways..SHARE feature and posting the URL directly to a FB page
Behavior of videos seems to be the same when sharing a video but get different behaviors when sharing images-articles etc..

I am not sure if an anchor text could be added in the facebook open graph template- something like OG:Content= anchor URL...

Just removing the left column on videos would work...I say this because awhile back I posted a video to FB using SHARE and one guy responded with "all I saw was an advertisement for gloves" and several othrs had liked his comment...gloves were an advertisement on the page and not in the video

I am really struggling to get my content to display on my facebook fan page properly- I usually am able to get it done but it involves posting and deleting it several times to FB until I get an option to select an image etc...

Yeah, that may be due to how Facebook works, especially if your just pasting a link. I've not tried it because I really can't stand Facebook. They always seem to have a reason to change something that usually breaks things.

Brian or one of the other guys might be able to help with this... but like I said, if your just pasting a link for your site to FB, and it doesn't post exactly what your trying to post, then its most likely a FB issue and there may not be anything we can do about it.

Have discussed it with Brian- hoping to find a "freelancer" ( they are never free) to fix this up
To solve the video problem making the left column disappear on video pages would be a solution
