I was editing a code to display newest posts first (don't remember if was in a forum (I'm calling discussions) or blog (which I renamed to Editorials) and must've had something wrong in my code. Now my front page is gone (except for header/logo) and I cannot determine how to "undo" what I did.
I tried hitting the back arrow - I tried a few searches here in the forums for "undo" , history and a few other terms. nada
Augh I hate feeling so incompetent on a platform..........but I know I'll get better with it.
(Edited 2:50)
Found the error log with the syntax error - just have no idea how to repair it. Still poking around searching the forums......

It's the home page. Tried /repair=true after it. Nothing changed

The Smarty code is incorrect. Are you able to view or edit the page?

Yeah then it's broken - not sure how that even happened, but it will need to be reset in the database. Michael (Site Builder dev) is out of town right now, so I think that is what is needed. Go ahead and see your JR login info to us at support [at] jamroom [dot] net and when I get back to my dev system I'll try to fix it up.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

I've got your home page fixed so the edit button is now showing, not sure what you had on that page and there doesn't seem to be a way to find out.

If there was content on your home page, let me know what it was and I'll try to get it back for you.

Hope this helps!

Saw it was reset. Thank you so much. No big deal rebuilding - it only had a few items on it anyway. Thank you once again..........and go Patriots! *lol*

What curtis said should have worked. when you add
/repair=true
to the url as the admin, it loads the widget headers without the content, so you can click the settings button to get back in to change whatever you put in there.

The index page should also show on
your-site.com/index/repair=true

I would expect it to work for just
your-site.com/repair=true

also.

Sorry for being not here. Will be less on the move on the 11th.

I tried that Michael and it didn't work. Cleared my cache and tried again. Did a hard refresh (ctrl+shift+r) and tried a again.

It's alright. The guys got it cleared and reset. Thanks

Michael my home page is gone once again. I tried out the Genosis skin to demonstrate for a friend and (I now think) not all of the modules must have been marked "active". Now I'm locked out - blank page and cannot reverse action. I tried stockbuz2.net/repair=true and it didn't help. I didn't think changing the skin would lock it all up. Can you gentlemen please re-set me back to Ning skin?

Yes - send us your Site login and FTP login to support [at] jamroom [dot] net.

Thanks!

Brian I sent it. I thought I might be able to resolve the issue via GoDaddy but that was a dismal failure. I'm sorry to have you intervene yet again. It is truly appreciated.

A new version is in the marketplace that now checks that the code is good in the widget before its saved. So going forward, you shouldn't be able to break it anymore.

If you try to save with bad code it will say
Quote: "There is a syntax error in your template - please fix and try again"

If you do find ways to break it, let us know.
