Going live with FoxyCart and the Marketplace

Hey everyone -

I'm going to be throwing the switch here on FoxyCart/Stripe and going "live" with the payment system - I want to be sure things are working properly before actually launching the new site, which I am hoping to do this next week.

I'd like to get some testing in using real transactions, so let me know if you can help out by purchasing a marketplace item, and I can send you a 75% off promo code to make it cheap.

Thanks!

Make sure and do a "reload" on the Marketplace module - I just pushed out an update that fixes a small bug in the Promo code section.

Let me know if you see any issues.

Thanks!

For those that can help out test with a real transaction, here's an 80% off promo code:

Let me know if you see ANY issues at all in the Marketplace.

Thanks!

Yep it should be - I set it up for 50 purchases, so you can re-use it if you want.

Thanks!

First purchase worked perfectly. There should be two other purchases without the promo code as well.

Trying to reuse the promo code from a different site and received the error:
"You have already used this promo code before, and cannot use it again"

That was on the promo code tab after entering the code and saving

Actually that is correct - I forgot each promo code is 1 time use per user - I may need to get an additional setting in for that that allows more than 1 user per user, so I can check that out.

If you can, reload the Marketplace - I just added a new "Payment Methods" tab in the marketplace that outlines how you can use PayPal if you want to purchase an item - it reaches out to the backend to get the list, so let me know if you see any issues.

Thanks!!

Tomorrow I would like to announce singups on test.jamroom.net on the main www.jamroom.net forums to get more people testing the system out - let me if anyone sees any last minute issues or thinks that is not a good idea :)

Thanks!

I have a client who is going to need licenses for a project.

Is it ok to tell them to sign up on test.jamroom.net and use the promo code, or is that over with going live?

Also, I'd use that promo code again just to get more licenses for use on test sites - the update system is great, I'd use it on more dev sites for the ease of keeping things up to date, especially at that discount!

If I used my licenses on a client site, how does the system work when I transfer that site over to the client? Do the licenses transfer? Is there anything in place to remove my licenses from the site an then require them to pay for their own licenses? How would I handle that with a new client?

Hey Steve - I've actually removed that promo code as it was just for that day of testing. However, we know that developers are going to want to use JR on their client's sites, and we know they are going to want to pick up licenses for those sites. Our intention all along has been to provide a way for developers to purchase JR modules/skins at a discount for use on sites they are developing.

Here's how I would work it:

- Create a unique JR account here for each site you are developing. This ensures you keep each site separated and unique.
- We would provide you a developer discount promo code that can be used on any of the sites you control.
- install a new JR5 site, and use YOUR marketplace email and system id
- enter your special promo code in the Marketplace Promo Codes section
- install or purchase the items you will be using and get them at the discount.
- when finished, go into the Marketplace -> Tools -> Marketplace Systems section and change the credentials to be the email and system_id that belongs to the client.

Does that sound like it would work?

What we're considering is a "Developer Pro" subscription that would include this as a feature as it would give you a good discount on anything you use.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Yes, that all sounds good to me.

Today I'm just getting "Invalid host received - please try again" from the marketplace when I try to reload a module. Should that be working at the moment or are you working on it?

Thanks Brian, That's all working again.

But I'm seeing "invalid location redirect token received - please try again" when I try to release all of the licenses from a test site under the licenses tab here:
http://test.jamroom.net/networklicense/licenses

This is the url when I see the error:
http://test.jamroom.net/networklicense/host_remove/aHR0cDovL2RldjMudWx0cmFqYW0uY28udWs%25253D

Individual licenses are released ok, it's jsut the Release all button which isn't working.

Any chance of getting a promo code in the next day or two?

I'm just setting up a new project for a client, so could test that workflow out.

Thanks
