I have downloaded my Jamroom 4 installation to my computer and now uploded the latest Jamroom to the space and domain that was taken up by Jamroom 4. I have created a new database for the new install.
My question is, I would like to transfer the data, mp3s, photos etc from Jamroom4 to the new install, what would be the best way of doing this? I can upload the old Jamroom to the same server that the new install is on. Just a little help would be appreciated please.

The easiest way to do this is to use the jrImport module. Its documentation is here - https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/modules/868/jamroom-4-import

The Jamroom4 site needs to be working so I suggest you reinstall it on a sub-folder on your server. The jrImport should then be able to access it and import all data and files.

Hi Paul, I have now re- installed the old jamroom as a sub directory on the new Jamroom install. Its working okay with the exception that the old version is http and not https.
I have not carried out the import to the new Jamroom but saw somewhere that you can do this for me for a fee. Please give me the the details you require and the fee for this.

Here is the link to our Import services - https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/serviceshop

Please note that whilst we did this a lot a few years ago when Jamroom5 first came out, we have not done it now for a long time and there have since been many releases of Jamroom5+ that may have introduced issues with the Import module.

What I suggest you do is raise a support ticket with us giving the location of the sites, their admin logins and FTP access (so that I can install the modules). I can then assess as to whether the process still works with the latest Jamroom.

Thanks

Thanks Paul, I think that rather than spend on something that might not work, I will configure the new Jamroom from start rather than trying to import previous data.

I was offering just to try it, to see if the module is still functional with latest Jamroom. We wouldn't charge for that. If it does look as though its ok, we'd then give you the cost of the whole job.

Thanks Paul, I appreciate your offer but I have now decided to treat this site differently than before and I am only going to let users who are on my record label on to it.. So I will be constructing it differently. Thanks again though,
