It is possible to migrate one Jamroom hosted domain (website) to another hosted domain on the same server without using FTP?

Thank you.

I'm not sure what you mean - do you just mean changing the domain name? For example - I have "site1.com" that I want to move to domain "site2.com". You can do this via the "Change Domain Name" tool in the domain settings.

Note that we have tools to transfer a domain from one server to another server in your account as well.

Let me know if that helps or I am not understanding the issue.

Thanks!

Hello Brian,
Yes, I want to move the whole website from site1.com to site2.com without loosing any content from the Jamroom website I have already built.

So changing the domain name is all I need to do?

Yes - as long as the domain you are changing it to does not already exist on the server - that's all you need to do.

If you run in to any issues open a ticket and I can check it out.

Thanks!

Ah! Didn't work as expected - The site is still active - https://chef-boutonne.net/ but it is not showing on the server.
I tried to move it to http://mission-poitou-charentes.com but there I nothing there. (Actually the domain " http://mission-poitou-charentes.com" is now showing "deleting") .

What do you advise?

OK yeah it looks like that domain already existed on the server so that messed it up.

So to be clear - you want "chef-boutonne.net" changed to "mission-poitou-charentes.com" ?

Thank you Brian - I'd already tried to change it before I got your note about the site NOT already being on the server.
I really appreciate your help - as always!

That's OK - I'm going to be updating it so it checks for that before the move - right now it DOES catch it but it's a couple steps in so I have to reset some things so we can try it again. Working on it.

OK I believe you should be set now. Let me know how that looks.

Also - I'm going to contact you via Support Ticket about moving your sites to a new hosting server - you're on one of our older servers and we have newer, faster servers we've been slowly moving our hosting customers over to - so be looking for that.

Thanks!

Yes, it's there, but I will need to reinstate some of the images (which is fine).

Thank you Brian

Yeah I would run an integrity check and clear caches. Also - any images that were embedded in Site Builder, blog posts, etc (basically using the WYSIWYG editor) will probably be using the old domain name and will need to be updated to the new.
