Can I ban a whole bunch of ip's with a wildcard like so 52 * * *

The reason I ask is that I have had hundreds of illegitimate requests from an ISP in Des Moines Iowa over the last hour.

I dont know what they are trying to achieve but they all attempt to load up a members timeline or home page and they all start with 52 and they are all from Iowa :)

Would the wildcard trick work?

I tried... 52 (match substring) Need to check the appropriate box for the 'match substring' part BUT it doesn't seem to be working :(

Still getting them....nearly a thousand now...they are now requesting other urls....not just profile pages.....every url is different but they all start with 52 and they all say Des Moines Iowa when I look them up. They do not appear in IPD Abuse so I assume thay are mostly previously unreported. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

From memory you can enter partial addresses
52.123.456.789
should match a ban for
52.123

There's a TEST section in the ban module to test it out. I don't have a local dev server setup at the moment to try it out on though. I'll get one set up.

Yeah, just put 52 to ban every ip address starting with 52.
